Since 2009, 16-year-old Coco Ma has performed in prestigious concert halls in Canada, America, Germany, and China, including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, Koerner Hall and the Zhuhai CAPP Grand Theatre. She was also one of only 12 students worldwide - and the only Canadian - to be chosen to study with international star Lang Lang at The Lang Lang Foundation’s inaugural Junior Music Camp in Munich.
As a recipient of numerous prizes in National and International Competitions, Coco won 1st place at the Canadian Music Competition (2009 and 2012). Coco was also placed as one of the top prize winners at the 2014 Canadian Chopin Competition, was awarded the Carl Nielsen Prize at the Aarhus International Piano Competition, and was awarded one of the top prizes at the Zhuhai Mozart International Competition for Young Musicians in partnership with the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She has performed with various orchestras, including numerous performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Peter Oundjian and Long Yu, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, the Toronto Sinfonietta and the Academy Chamber Orchestra, among others. Coco has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists including Lang Lang, Emanuel Ax, James Ehnes, and Chilly Gonzales.
Coco is a student at The Juilliard School in the studio of Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky.
