Renate Rohlfing has quickly established herself as a highly sought-after and versatile collaborative pianist. Active as a vocal accompanist, chamber musician, and orchestral pianist, Ms. Rohlfing has performed with some of the world's leading artists, including James Conlon, Anna Netrebko, Alan Gilbert, and John Adams.
Ms. Rohlfing's passion for vocal accompanying has led to numerous prestigious opportunities in this field, including the Ravinia Festival, Pepperdine's "Songfest" festival in California Marilyn Horne's "The Song Continues..." series at Carnegie Hall. She has worked as an artist-in-residence with New Triad in New York City, Associate Music Director for art song performances at New York University, and is currently a member of the vocal coaching staff at Bard College. Operatic credits include Assistant Conductor at Los Angeles Opera and several music staff assignments at the Juilliard School.
Equally active as a chamber musician and orchestral pianist, Ms. Rohlfing co-founded the piano trio LONGLEASH, with concerts at the San Francisco Center for New Music, the Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria), and a residency at Ohio University. Past orchestral engagements include performances with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony, under conductors including James Conlon, Alan Gilbert, Robert Spano, and others. Ms. Rohlfing is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, and a graduate of the Juilliard School.
