    Dominique Fils-Aimé returns to the stage to present her new album ‘Our Roots Run Deep’ slated for release in September 2023 on Ensoul Records. After having explored her African-American musical influences in her album trilogy, this new show invites the audience to delve into the roots of her soul. Fils-Aimé won a Felix in 2019 for Jazz Album of the Year, a JUNO in 2020 for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year and was nominated for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize shortlist in both 2019 and 2021. The mercurial singer-songwriter hailing from Montreal dazzles the listener with her radiant voice and underlying message of empathy.

    One of the most sought-after violinists on the international stage, James Ehnes returns to Bravo Niagara! for a rare Canadian appearance with the internationally acclaimed Ehnes Quartet. James Ehnes’ extensive discography of more than 60 releases has won many awards including 2 GRAMMY awards, 3 Gramophone awards, and 11 Junos. Hailed as “an important new force in the chamber music arena” with a “dream-team line-up” (Strings), the Ehnes Quartet is comprised of four internationally renowned string musicians: violinists James Ehnes and Amy Schwartz Moretti, violist Che-Yen Chen, and cellist Edward Arron.

  • February 25, 2024 - Blue Note Records 85th Anniversary Celebration

    Ontario debut! Founded in 1939, Blue Note Records is the most-respected and longest-running Jazz label in the world. In celebration of their 85th Anniversary, The Blue Note Quintet honours the label’s rich history and paves the way for the eclectic artists of today’s roster. Six-time Grammy Award nominee Gerald Clayton leads the band as Musical Director and Pianist; “Gerald Clayton is one of the most accomplished, distinctive and innovative pianists performing today” says Don Was, the label’s President since 2012. Rounding out the group is vibraphonist Joel Ross, Saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, Drummer Kendrick Scott, and Bassist Matt Brewer.

Named one of CBC Music’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30,” the Chinese-Canadian brother-and-sister duo is formed by cellist Bryan Cheng, prizewinner of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition and 2021 Concours de Genève, and pianist Silvie Cheng, 2022-23 musician-in-residence of Cecilia Concerts in Halifax.

  • May 9, 2024 - Hayato Sumino

    Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, Toronto

    Canadian Solo Debut! Hayato Sumino was a semi-finalist at the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. In addition to performing concerts in Japan and abroad, he also writes, arranges, and performs his own music under the name of “Cateen” on YouTube, with over 1.2 million subscribers and 150 million views (and counting)! Sumino’s debut at the prestigious Suntory Hall in Tokyo sold out on the day of release. His unique style, a fusion of classical techniques, arrangements, and improvisational skills, has been well received by fans around the world. A CASIO electronic musical instrument ambassador and Steinway artist, he is a truly new type of pianist that pushes the boundaries of classical music.
